Celebrating Your Body

Last week end we had one of my favorite photo shoots. It was a semi nude photo session for a young lady who just wanted to celebrate her body.

I call the nude photography I do “body landscapes”. The images are not complete full frontal nudes, but light hitting naked body parts, just revealing the outline of the body. The work with light and shadow is very tricky. I let difficult body zones disappear in the shadows, make the subject stretch and arrange the body in a way to the day light that interesting body structures are being caressed by it.

I normally work with window light or mix window light with a strobe if necessary.
We have been having more and more of these shoots and when I talk about it, some people (mostly the older generations) just don’t understand.

But sometimes I think it is good to just detach yourself from all the latest fashion, layers of clothes and jewelry and embrace the real you. Of course these are not images you can show off on facebook or twitter. They are for you and your loved ones to keep. But they are also art works you can enlarge and have hanging in your bedroom. Some of my clients have massive enlargements, keeping everybody second guessing if this image is showing them or someone else.

So last week ends shoot was again so much fun, leaving a happy client who could not believe she could look like that.

Since the client has not even received her final work now, I am posting images of former jobs here today.
